A collection of photographs and moments I want to keep, revisit, and remember.
The Day We Finally Got Our House Keys
There are some moments in life that look very ordinary from the outside.
You sign a few papers. Someone hands you a set of keys. You take a few photos. Then you go home.
But when you have waited for something for years, that small bunch of keys carries a lot more weight.
Today, we finally got the keys to our home.
It still feels a little strange writing that.
For the last couple of years, this home existed mostly as numbers, documents, payment schedules, construction updates and countless conversations about what should go where.
Then came the waiting.
And more waiting.
There were days when it felt like possession was still very far away. And then suddenly, we were standing there, looking at the same walls we had discussed so many times.
This time, they were ours.

From a booking receipt to a front door
Buying a home is probably one of the few things where the emotional journey starts much before the physical one.
The first payment doesn't feel like buying a house.
The agreement doesn't feel like buying a house.
The loan approval definitely doesn't feel like buying a house.
Even watching the construction progress doesn't quite make it real.
It becomes real when you stand at the entrance and someone says, "Here are your keys."
That was the moment.
I remember looking around the flat and thinking about how many decisions are still left.
The interiors are still being worked on. There are things to fix, things to buy, things to understand and probably a long list of things we haven't even thought about yet.
But that didn't matter much that day.
For once, we weren't looking at it as a property.
We were looking at it as home.
A lot of people made this possible
A home is rarely just the result of one person's effort.
There are parents who support you, family members who listen to your endless discussions, people who help with decisions, and people who simply stay around while you figure things out.
There are also the less glamorous parts.
The paperwork.
The payments.
The home loan.
The site visits.
The measurements.
The interior discussions.
The WhatsApp messages.
The "let's just check once more" visits.
The small arguments about what should go where.
All of it becomes part of the story.
And now, after all of that, we have the keys.
The beginning, not the end
Getting the keys feels like an ending because it closes one chapter.
But honestly, it feels more like the beginning.
Now comes the fun part.
Making this place ours.
Choosing the lights.
Getting the furniture right.
Figuring out storage.
Setting up the kitchen.
Deciding what stays empty.
Finding a place for all the things we somehow keep collecting.
And eventually, one day, walking through the door without thinking about the EMI, construction or possession date.
Just walking in because it's home.
I don't know how long it will take for that feeling to fully settle in.
Maybe it will happen the first night we sleep there.
Maybe when we have our first meal there.
Maybe when we get our first delivery addressed to the new home.
Or maybe much later, when we return after a long day and realise that this is the place we're coming back to.
For now, though, I'll take the keys.
After all the waiting, planning and paperwork, they finally belong to us.
Our home. Finally.
Anika’s First Birthday Celebration
Anika turned one today, and the whole house felt brighter than usual. We had planned a small celebration, but the balloons, lights, and colors made it look much bigger. The backdrop had her name glowing in warm light, and the big number one stood right beside her. She walked into the room, looked at everything, and smiled like she already knew the day was for her.
Her pink birthday dress made her look even smaller and sweeter. She kept laughing while looking up at the lights, as if they were doing some secret magic trick just for her. I stood there watching her enjoy the colors, and for a moment, everything else faded. One full year. It still feels unreal.
We clicked a lot of photos. Some with just the three of us, some with friends, and some with all the kids who ran around the house like they owned the place. Anika looked a little confused when everyone gathered for the cake, but she stayed calm in Lovely’s arms. The cake looked nice, full of colors and small "Cocomelon" design that kids love.
Seeing our friends around her felt good. Everyone had their own small moment with her, either a smile, a touch on her cheek, or just a small comment about how fast she had grown. And it is true. This one year went fast. Too fast. From her tiny newborn days to her first steps, everything passed in a way that feels impossible to catch unless you pause.
Today was not about a big celebration. It was about seeing her happy, seeing Lovely smile, and feeling grateful that we made it through this year with so many small memories. The photos show balloons and lights, but for me, the best part was her laughter. The way she looked up, opened her mouth wide, and laughed without any reason. That is the moment I want to remember.
Her first birthday felt soft, colorful, and full of small emotions that stayed even after the guests left. A simple day, but a big milestone for all three of us.
Anika Turns Eleven Months
Anika turned eleven months today, and Lovely took full control of the photos. She spread a deep magenta bedsheet on the floor and arranged the number eleven using colorful blocks. The whole setup looked bright and playful, just like Anika these days. No heavy decoration, only toys and colours that already belong to her world.
Anika wore a yellow dungaree set, and the moment we placed her on the sheet, she grabbed the ball like it was part of some grand plan. She kept shifting between the small red ball and the big multicolored one, as if she was testing which one made her look more serious for the camera. Lovely clicked away while Anika did her own thing, completely unaware that this was supposed to be a photo moment.
The funny part is that the best photos came when she was not trying at all. Her wide smile, the way she held the ball close, the tiny headband slightly tilted to the side, everything looked natural. She kept turning back, picking toys, and then looking at us as if she was asking whether she was doing it right.
Watching Lovely capture these moments felt nice. She was fully in the zone, fixing angles, adjusting Anika’s position, and making sure the blocks forming the number eleven stayed in place. Anika kept kicking them off, which made us laugh more than it annoyed us. That is how most of these monthly photos go. A plan, a little chaos, and then one frame that makes the whole effort worth it.
Eleven months. Almost a full year. She is changing fast, and every new photo somehow looks different from the last one. I used to think these monthly shoots were just cute memories, but now they feel like small checkpoints of her journey. A way to pause and look at how much she has grown without making it a big moment.
Today felt light. Just toys, colour, Lovely behind the camera, and Anika giving us those smiles that stay with you longer than you expect.
Ten Months of Growing With Anika
Today felt special in a quiet way. Anika completed ten months, and we kept it simple at home. Lovely and Gudi took charge of the setup. They spread a blue bedsheet and made the number ten with jasmine flowers. It looked nice, not over the top, just a small effort filled with love. I stood there watching the two of them arrange flowers while Anika sat in the middle, full of curiosity, trying to understand what was happening around her.
She wore a small green dress with a matching flower clip. The moment we placed her on the bedsheet, she started touching the petals, moving them around as if she was helping. She did not cry or fuss today. She was calm, playful, and kept giving those random smiles that make everything else fade for a moment.
Taking photos of a baby is a different challenge. Every time we positioned the camera, she turned her head in the opposite direction. Babies have perfect timing for mischief. But somehow the photos came out really nice. The lighting was soft, the dress suited her, and the jasmine flowers added a peaceful touch.
While clicking her photos, we kept thinking about how fast these ten months have gone. It does not feel like ten months at all. It feels like ten minutes. She is growing every day. One new expression, one new sound, one new way of looking at things. And somewhere in this process, we are growing too. Parenthood is not one big dramatic moment. It is small shifts inside you that you understand only when you pause.
Today reminded me to slow down and watch her grow. Work and stress will keep coming, but she will not be ten months again. Moments like these do not make noise, but they stay with you.
Anika at nine months
Nine months with her feels like living inside a soft, noisy, colorful bubble. Every day she does something tiny that somehow becomes the highlight of the house.
The latest photoshoot happened because Lovely had another idea in her head. She arranged chocolates into the number nine, dressed Anika in a bright pink outfit, and placed her right next to it. I stood there thinking, only a child can pull off sitting beside a pile of toffees without looking confused about the concept. She kept grabbing wrappers, shaking them like they were treasures, and giving us this serious face whenever we tried to take them back.
This month, Anika has become more curious. Not restless, just aware. She looks at objects as if she is trying to figure out their purpose. She looks at us in the same way sometimes, which hurts the ego a little because she stares like she is evaluating our choices.
Her confidence while sitting has improved. She leans forward, reaches for things that are slightly far, and has this proud look when she manages to grab something. The house feels different now because she notices everything. A sound. A color. A small movement. Nothing passes without a reaction.
What changed for me is harder to explain. I feel more tuned into her rhythm. She wakes up, looks around slowly, and when her eyes land on us, she gives this half-smile that feels like a personal achievement. It is strange how such a small gesture can calm down a whole day.
I also catch myself watching her more often. Not in the dramatic fatherhood way, but in a simple way. Just paying attention to how she grows. How she learns. How she depends on us without thinking twice.
The next month will probably be more chaotic. She is already preparing to move faster, and we know the real activity is coming soon. For now, I am holding on to these quieter moments, the way she sits on the bedsheet surrounded by chocolates and looks like she is running her own festival.
Nine months of Anika. The house feels fuller. My mind feels softer. And every small moment somehow turns into a memory we will talk about later.
Anika turns eight months
Eight months. It still surprises me how quickly that number changed. One day she was this tiny baby who only knew how to cry, drink milk, and sleep. Now she looks at me with these curious eyes as if she is trying to decode the whole world.
This month felt special. Not because something big happened, but because the small things finally started connecting. Her expressions. Her half-sitting posture. Her attempts to grab everything, including my glasses and my patience.
The photoshoot that became a memory
The setup you see in the pictures was done by Lovely. She had the whole plan in her head. Flowers, the number eight, the daisy dress, the bow, the maroon bedsheet, and Anika in the centre of it all.
I just watched from the side thinking, this girl is lucky. Her mother and her Lovely bua put so much heart into these things. They see angles I usually miss.
Anika kept looking at the camera like she was judging whether we deserve her attention. In most photos she looks calm, but we all know she gave us a solid workout during the shoot. Babies have this talent. They do nothing yet somehow leave adults exhausted.
What changed this month
This eighth month brought a shift in her presence. She reacts more. She recognises voices. She studies faces before smiling. She grabs my fingers with more intention. Her tiny hands feel stronger, like she is telling me she is slowly becoming her own person.
There is a new softness in the routine. She wakes up, turns her head, searches for us, and gives this half-smile that makes everything worth it. Some days I look at her and wonder how such a small person can create so much purpose in a house.
What I felt as a father
With every passing month, I see how my priorities keep shifting. Work is still work, deadlines are still deadlines, but the emotional gravity in my life sits around this small girl.
I also feel more responsible. Not in the dramatic way, but in a grounded way. When I look at her, I want to become a calmer person. A more patient person. Someone who gives her a world where she can grow without fear.
These eight months taught me that parenting is not a big leap. It is a series of tiny adjustments. One day you give up late-night scrolling. One day you learn to eat faster. One day you stop getting irritated at small things because a baby is sleeping on your chest and nothing else matters.
The month ahead
I have no prediction for the ninth month. She might start crawling or she might continue giving us those suspicious looks during photo sessions. Either way, I am learning to enjoy her pace instead of forcing mine.
Every month feels like a chapter. This eighth one was full of colour, flowers, and a lot of effort from her Lovely bua. And one day when Anika grows up and sees these photos, I hope she understands how loved she has been since day one.
Eight months done. A lifetime to go.
Lovely's 29th Birthday Highlights
I have some updates around how we celebrated Lovely's birthday. This is a continuation of what we discussed in my earlier post. This is Anika celebrating her mom's birthday for the first time, we we had to make it memorable.
At around 6:30 PM, we decided to have family dinner (of course, we three people only). The plan was to have a window shopping at nearby stores, then end the day with a nice family dinner. Still, we were little bit late while getting ready, hence skipped the window shopping.

We went to Sheer-E-Punjab, where Anika enjoyed initially and we clicked some nice photos. And later, when we started having our dinner. After the dinner, we returned home, and to our surprise, it started raining, in the summer season. A birthday surprise for Lovely!
We cherished the moment as we embraced the soothing rain, knowing it was Anika's very first experience with it. Holding her close in our arms, we stood by the window, sharing the joy of this beautiful spectacle together.

As we reflected on the day, we couldn't help but feel grateful for these precious memories. Celebrating Lovely's birthday in such a unique way reminded us of the importance of family. It also made us appreciate the simple joys that make life special. We look ahead to many more celebrations filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Celebrating My Wife's 29th Birthday
The sixth of May means a lot to me. It’s my wife’s birthday. She turned twenty-nine today. And for the first time, we don’t have anything special planned.
It’s not like I didn’t take a break from my corporate life. I did. We had a quiet cake-cutting moment. Not with a bunch of friends, because honestly, I don’t have many. Just the three of us — me, my wife, and our daughter. And I believe, in this phase of life, the best gift I could give her was my time.
We got married pretty young. I was twenty-five and she was twenty-one. Today, that feels too early for many. I didn’t even have a stable job back then. But if there’s one thing I’ve never doubted, it’s that marrying her was the best decision I ever made.
She has been my lightning rod through it all. For the last ten years, she has stood beside me without fail.
During my bad days.
During the good ones.
During the times when my pockets were empty and hope felt far away.
She stayed. Quietly, strongly, without ever making a big deal out of it.
So, on her twenty-ninth birthday, I just wanted to pause for a moment. Thank you for all the love. Thank you for all the strength. Thank you for all the silent support she's given me.
I Wish Time Had a Pause Button
I still remember the day we found out we were pregnant. That tiny strip changed everything. There was excitement, joy, nervous laughter, and this strange feeling inside me that wanted to fast forward life just to get a glimpse of our baby. But life doesn’t work like that. You can’t skip the wait, no matter how badly you want to.
The months that followed felt slow. Not in a peaceful way, but in the kind of slow that comes with worry. I was constantly stressed about the baby’s safety. Every little thing would make me anxious, and I’d end up calling the doctor far more than I should have. Honestly, I think I nearly irritated her with all my questions.
Lovely, on the other hand, stayed calm. At least that’s how it seemed. I never really understood how she managed it. Maybe it was her connection with the baby. Maybe somewhere deep inside, she was hearing a little voice saying, “Mama, I am ok.”
I even told Lovely that I was planning to get a PlayStation. Not for fun, but just to keep my mind distracted when I wasn’t working. Anything to keep myself from overthinking.
Those nine months dragged on. It felt like they would never end. But now, seven months into holding our baby in our arms, time feels like it is slipping away too quickly. Every day flies by. Every week vanishes before I can even process it.
Sometimes, I wish I could just slow everything down. I want to enjoy every little moment, every tiny movement, every sound, every silly smile. I want to freeze time and live in these memories while they are still happening.
Because I know one day, I’ll look back at all this and wonder how it all went by so fast.
People I Admire and Look to for Advice
With time, I’ve understood one thing clearly. Growth doesn’t happen in isolation. You have all the ambition in the world. Still, it's easy to lose direction without the right people guiding you.
I used to think I had to figure everything out on my own. But slowly, life showed me that real wisdom often comes from those around us. People who not always have perfect answers, but who carry a perspective shaped by experience, patience, and quiet resilience.
These are the people I admire. The ones I listen to when I feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure.
Rajashree, my anchor
If there’s anyone who understands me without me saying a word, it’s Rajashree. She’s been the one constant voice of clarity in my loud and chaotic world.
She doesn’t try to impress me with complex advice. She simplifies what I overcomplicate. I am worrying about ten different things in my head. She’ll simply ask, “Why don’t you take a break and just breathe?”
Sometimes I think she hears the part of me even I ignore. She trusts life in a way that I deeply admire. Her connection with emotions is admirable. She manages pressure without showing it.
Even in her silence, she gives me strength. And I can never thank her enough for that.
My Father
My father is not someone who sits you down to give lectures. He just lives in a way that teaches you. I’ve watched him handle tough times with a calm that I still struggle to learn.
He doesn’t react. He responds. He doesn’t complain. He adapts.
When I’m cornered by a difficult situation, I often ask myself, “How would he handle this?” And that one thought gives me clarity.
His advice is not always spoken, but it’s always there. In how he shows up. In how he never gives up. In how he puts family before everything else.
My Workplace Circle
At work, I’ve met people who do not know they’ve been mentors to me. These are folks who stay composed during chaos, who listen before speaking, and who never pass the blame.
I admire people like that. Not because they are loud or dominant, but because they are steady.
Whenever I hit a roadblock professionally, I try to remember how they reacted in similar moments. It helps me take a breath, slow down, and look at the bigger picture.
Not all learning needs to be formal. Some of the best advice comes when you are simply paying attention.
Mentors Through Pages and Screens
There are people I’ve never met, but whose voices have guided me on some of the toughest days.
Naval Ravikant taught me to think independently. Ankur Warikoo made me believe that it's okay to show vulnerability in public. Robert Greene made me understand the importance of reading between the lines in any power dynamic.
They don’t know I exist. But their words have shaped me. Whether through a podcast, a YouTube video, or a sentence in a book, they’ve helped me pause. They made me think and move forward with more clarity.
When I look back, I realize I haven’t built this version of myself on my own. The people I admire have helped me construct it piece by piece, whether they knew it or not.
Advice doesn’t always come with big words. Sometimes it’s in someone’s silence. Sometimes in a gesture. Sometimes in a quote that stays with you for years.
If you have two or three people in your life whose presence makes you feel lighter, you are fortunate. They help you feel more grounded or more focused. I know I am.
Turned 33 Today: It’s Just Me, A Little Wiser, A Lot More Grateful
So, I turned 33 today.
There’s no grand celebration happening, no partying with background music from a reel, and definitely no “life update” on Instagram yet. But inside? It feels like a good day to pause. To breathe. To reflect.
Because 33 is not just another number. It’s not 30, when you officially leave behind the glorified twenties, and it’s not 35, where society starts checking your “maturity meter” more often. It’s this oddly satisfying middle lane where you’re still figuring life out, but you do it with a bit more clarity, less drama, and a better playlist.
What’s Changed?
At 23, I chased speed. At 33, I crave peace.
There was a time when I thought success was loud—fancy titles, long hours, weekend hustle, zero sleep. But now? I understand that success can also look like a slow breakfast, a calm mind, a baby's smile (yes, thanks to Anika), and being mentally present when someone needs you.
I've also stopped keeping score with people. I used to remember who forgot my birthday, who didn’t show up, who said what. Now, I remember who made me feel safe, who texted at 2 AM just to check in, and who laughs at my worst jokes.
That’s growth, I guess.
What Still Feels the Same?
I still overthink. Still have bad hair days. Still feel like a beginner in many areas of life.
But I also still believe people are inherently good, that chai fixes most things, and that it's okay to be a work in progress.
The pressure to “have it all figured out” by 33? I’ve unsubscribed from that nonsense. Honestly, the only thing I want to figure out now is how to stay consistent with workouts and maybe finish that one book I started five months ago.
My Hopes Moving Forward
If you ask me what I want from this year ahead, I’ll keep it simple:
More memories with family.
More deep conversations, less small talk.
More real moments, less filtered ones.
And the patience to handle whatever life throws my way without turning into a version of me I left behind.
33 doesn’t feel old. It feels earned. Every scar, every milestone, every late-night breakdown, it’s all part of the package. And today, I’m wearing it with quiet pride.
No big declarations. Just a quiet smile, a full heart, and a promise to myself: Keep going. Keep growing. And never stop being real.
Seven Months of Learning, Loving, and Letting Time Flow
It feels like just yesterday I was sitting in the hospital room. I was holding my newborn daughter Anika for the very first time. I can still remember the rush of emotions. There was excitement and nervousness. An overwhelming sense of joy filled my heart.
Amidst all the happiness, there was also a quiet fear building inside me. It was the fear of whether I can take care of this little life and her mother. Everything felt so new, so unfamiliar, and honestly, overwhelming.
Fast forward to today, Anika is already six and half months old. She recognizes me now. She calls me "Papa." In fact, she started saying it right after she turned six months old. At first, we thought she was just babbling like any other baby. But slowly, we realized she was actually calling me, and it melted my heart every single time.
I work late nights, but thankfully, my employers have given me the flexibility to work from home. It allows me to manage my professional responsibilities while also being there for my family. Every night, as soon as my shift ends, Anika looks around for me. She waits for her Papa to come and hold her.

I honestly do not know how a seven-month-old baby understands so much without anyone teaching her. It is not something that happens once in a while. It happens every single day. And every single day, it leaves me wondering how quickly she is growing up, right before my eyes.
Watching Anika grow has taught me something I never fully understood before. Time does not wait for anyone. Moments that feel ordinary today will one day become the memories we cherish the most. As I live through these precious days, I am learning to slow down. I am learning to be here.I am learning to truly experience the magic of now. Because tomorrow, she will be a little bigger, and today will quietly slip into yesterday.
The Risk I Took That I’ll Never Regret
In 2019, I left a so-called “secure” government contract job. Sounds bold, right? Not really. My salary came once every 4 or 5 months. I was juggling rent, credit card bills, and somehow surviving. On paper, it looked like stability. In reality, it was chaos.
Then came an offer, a role in a private company. No big raise. But it promised one thing: a regular salary.
Everyone around me called it a step down. But I knew staying put would cost me more than just money, it would cost me time and growth. So I took the risk.
Early days weren’t easy
The private job came with pressure, long hours, and the constant urge to prove myself. But for the first time in years, I had predictability. Rent was on time. My mind wasn’t spinning at 3 AM about bills. And slowly, something started to shift.
One evening, my manager pulled me aside. No agenda. No big announcement. He said, “You’ve got ownership in you. Rare to find.”
That sentence changed everything. I started believing in myself in a way I hadn’t before.
A career pivot that paid off
That risk wasn’t just about switching jobs, it reset my trajectory.
Since then, I’ve climbed industries, taken on creative leadership, and built a life on my terms. If I hadn’t made that leap, I’d still be stuck waiting for a salary that may or may not come.
I don’t regret leaving. I regret not doing it earlier.
What I learned from the jump
The real danger wasn’t the risk, it was the comfort. The illusion that staying put was safer. But nothing grows in comfort. That leap showed me that betting on yourself is the only real security in a world that’s constantly shifting.
Sometimes, the best move is the one nobody understands.
Final thoughts
Taking that risk made me uncomfortable, uncertain, and anxious. But it also made me accountable, sharp, and resilient.
If you’re sitting on a decision, scared of what happen. Ask yourself what will happen if nothing changes.
For me, the bigger regret would’ve been not taking that chance at all.
Six Months of Anika, The One with the Rose Petals
Half a year already. It feels unreal. Like we blinked and she went from newborn snuggles to trying to grab everything in sight. And for her six-month milestone, we kept it soft, simple, and full of petals.
Lovely once again took the lead. She picked red rose petals to form the number six. No plastic props, no glittery frames. There were just fresh petals and a clean sheet. Anika was dressed in a floral outfit that matched the whole vibe without even trying. Her maroon top and white floral frock gave the photo a soft festive feel, but without making it look overdone.
This time, Anika was not just lying there. She was observing everything. The camera, the petals, the lights. Her expressions have started to show thought. Like she’s figuring things out, like she already has opinions about how we’re staging these shoots. She looked calm, curious, and a little serious, which was a first. No wide grins this time, just pure elegance. Maybe she knew this was a big one.
Six months is no small deal. She now responds to her name. She looks at us with eyes that say she knows who we are. She has started making different sounds. These are not just random babbles. They feel like she's trying to say something important. She reaches for toys. She pulls our hair and sometimes holds our fingers with a grip that makes you stop everything.
The rose petals weren’t just decoration. They felt symbolic. Delicate, vibrant, full of life. Just like her. Every petal placed around her felt like a silent thank you to the last six months. For every cry, every cuddle, every breakthrough.
One day, when Anika grows up, she will ask why we did this month after month. I want her to know that we weren’t trying to be fancy. We were just making space to pause. To watch her grow. To celebrate her in our own quiet way.
This photo is more than a memory. It’s a reminder that beauty doesn’t need effort when love is already in the room.
And now we wait for month seven. No idea what we’ll use. But the feeling behind it will stay the same.
Lovely, My Constant in the Chaos
Some people come into your life quietly and end up becoming the strongest part of it. For me, that person is Lovely.
Back when I was working as a contractor, life was unpredictable. Salaries came late, bills piled up, and I was always anxious. But she never complained. She never asked why things weren’t better. Instead, she looked me in the eye and said, “We’ll manage.” And she meant it.
She stood by me during every tough phase. No dramatic speeches, just small actions that showed care. A plate of food when I was too stressed to ask. Sitting beside me when I couldn’t talk. Just being there without pressure.
Then came Anika. Pregnancy is never easy, but the way she handled everything with patience and strength made me respect her even more. I’ll never forget her smile the moment Anika was born. Tired, teary, and full of love.
Lovely doesn’t ask for credit. She never wants attention. But if I am where I am today, it’s because she stayed when she had every reason to walk away.
She didn’t just support me. She carried me through. Quietly. Steadily. Without asking for anything in return. Some heroes don’t wear capes. They wear simplicity, strength, and a smile that keeps you going.
Five Months of Anika, The One With the 5 Stars
This month’s celebration came with a serious sugar twist. It wasn't for Anika, of course. We all got a little too excited. We arranged 5 Star chocolates into the shape of a number five.
Lovely planned it all. She knew exactly what she wanted. From the color of the bedsheet to the outfit, to the placement of each chocolate. What surprised me most was her restraint. She didn’t touch (or let me touch) a single one of those bars until the photos were done. That takes real discipline. I can’t say the same for myself after the shoot ended.
Anika wore a soft off-white romper with a golden belt. The outfit made her look like a little queen. She just happened to be chilling next to a pile of chocolate. She gave that side glance to the camera, almost like she knew she was being watched. This girl is already camera aware, and I have no idea who she gets that from.
At five months, she has turned into this curious little explorer. She rolls over smoothly. She stares at faces with full attention. Sometimes, she gives us fake cries just to see if we react. She knows what she wants. And if she doesn’t get it, well, we hear about it.
This photo looks like a simple setup. When you really see it, it tells you a lot about the love that went into making it. No props, no filters, no big show. Just effort, attention, and a whole lot of heart from her mom.
These monthly shoots are not about being perfect. They are just a way to pause, click, and store the feeling of “this was Anika at five months.” It matters. Because soon, these moments will become memories. And I don’t want them to fade into one blurry childhood.
One day she will ask us why we went with 5 Star chocolates instead of something prettier. I’ll tell her the truth. It was fun, it was easy, and it was us. That’s all that mattered.
Let’s see what six months brings. Whatever it is, we’re ready. And so is she.
The Truth About Why We Don’t Celebrate Valentine’s Week
Love is not about a date on the calendar. It’s not about grand gestures on specific days dictated by trends. For me, love is in the little things. It's in the unplanned coffee dates and the late-night conversations. It's in the everyday moments that make life beautiful. That’s why I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Week.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t celebrate love. In fact, I do—just on a day that actually means something to us.
February 26: Our Real Valentine's Day
For most people, February is all about chocolates, roses, and candlelight dinners. It is a month dedicated to celebrating love in its many forms. But for me, February 26 holds far more significance. It marks the day Lovely said “yes” to my proposal. This moment forever turned an ordinary day into a lifelong memory to cherish. The anticipation was palpable. It was filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness as I knelt before her.
That single moment, with her sparkling eyes reflecting joy and surprise, was worth more than a thousand scripted celebrations. It embodied the pure essence of love. It sealed our commitment and paved the way for a beautiful journey together. This journey is filled with shared dreams, laughter, and countless adventures.
Love Doesn’t Need a Calendar Reminder
Do we really need a dedicated week to express love? If love is genuine, it’s there in every moment, in every gesture, and in every silent glance exchanged. I don’t need a ‘Propose Day’ to tell Lovely how much she means to me. I don’t need a ‘Promise Day’ to assure her of my commitment. These are things I do naturally, without a reminder.
Every day with her is a celebration. Sometimes we share a Five Star candy while watching a movie. Other times, I randomly text her a silly joke to make her smile. That's the love that lasts.
The Pulwama Attack: A Reality Check
Another reason I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Week is because of what happened on February 14, 2019. The Pulwama attack was a heart-wrenching reminder that while some were exchanging roses, families were losing their loved ones.
It felt wrong to celebrate when our soldiers were making the ultimate sacrifice. How do I enjoy a day filled with artificial romance when the country was mourning? Since then, I have never looked at February 14 the same way. While others are planning their dates, I take a moment to remember those who laid down their lives for us.
Love is Personal, Not Commercial
Valentine’s Week has turned into a marketing festival. Brands push people to buy gifts, expensive dinners, and luxury getaways. The essence of love is lost in the noise of consumerism.
True love doesn’t need validation through gifts. It’s in the everyday moments—the ones that don’t make it to social media but mean the world in real life.
For me, love is not bound by a week. It’s a lifetime of moments, and I choose to celebrate it in my own way.
The Journey with My First Computer: Learning, Failing, and Thriving
It was 2006. I was in 8th class, and life was simpler. No smartphones, no binge-watching, just school, cricket, and the occasional dose of Cartoon Network. Then one day, my uncle brought home something that would change my world—a used HCL desktop computer. It wasn’t the latest or the greatest, but to me, it was nothing less than magic.
It had a white CRT monitor, a bulky CPU, and a keyboard that clicked loudly with every press. The moment we plugged it in and the screen lit up, I felt like I had entered a whole new dimension. The Windows XP startup sound was music to my ears. I had no idea how this machine worked, but I knew one thing—it was mine to explore.
At first, I didn’t have internet access, so my time was spent tinkering with MS Paint, Solitaire, and Notepad. I would type random things just to see letters appear on the screen. It felt like I had a superpower. I didn’t know coding, I didn’t know how computers worked, but I was already hooked.
The Unexpected Disaster
Just as I was starting to get comfortable with my new digital playground, disaster struck. Within a year, the entire motherboard got damaged. One day, it just refused to turn on. I had no clue what had gone wrong, and we had to call a repairman. His verdict? The motherboard was beyond repair, and fixing it would cost around Rs. 20,000. That was a huge amount back then. So, my first computer journey ended abruptly.
I was heartbroken. The device that had opened up a whole new world was now just a lifeless box sitting in the corner. I didn't know much about repairs, and honestly, no one around me did either. My dream of becoming a computer wizard was put on hold, but not for long.
A Second Chance at Exploration
In 2008, I got a second computer. This time, it was another HCL desktop, but in black, with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. It felt like an upgrade in every way. I was older, a little wiser, and this time, I wanted to do more than just play Solitaire.
I started exploring every part of the system. I learned how to install software, navigate the file system, and even mess around with some basic settings. But my biggest discovery was Dangerous Dave—a game that looked simple but was an absolute nightmare to complete. I never managed to finish all the levels, but I kept coming back to it, determined to get better.
Looking back, these two computers were more than just machines. They were my introduction to technology, my first step into a field that would later become my career. I didn’t realize it then, but those hours spent clicking around, breaking things, and figuring them out shaped the way I approach problems today.
The journey that started with that old HCL desktop led me to where I am now. And even though my first computer didn’t last long, it gave me something far more valuable—a curiosity that never faded.
Anika Turns Four Months Old, A Grape-Sweet Memory
Some days are not just ordinary days. They become memories that live with us. This was one of those days.
Anika completed four months. And like always, we wanted to celebrate it in a way that felt close to our hearts. Nothing grand. No studio lights. Just a soft white bedsheet, a bunch of grapes, and our Anika dressed in a deep wine-colored dress. That smile on her face lit up the entire frame.
This time, the photos were captured beautifully by Lovely and my sister Gudi. Honestly, they did not just take pictures. They froze a feeling. The moment you see the photo, it tells a story. A baby girl lying peacefully, and beside her, grapes arranged to form the number 4. Simple, yet so special.
Anika is growing fast. These days, her little eyes watch everything. Her giggles are louder, and she now holds our fingers tighter. Every touch, every sound from her feels like a new discovery. Parenting is not always easy, but moments like this make it feel worth every bit.
What made this month even more heartwarming was how everyone came together to celebrate it. No pressure, no plans. Just the joy of having her in our lives. And the happiness of seeing her grow each day.
These small celebrations help us pause. They remind us of the time that is flying by. One day, Anika will ask us how she was as a baby. We will have these memories to show her. Not just in photos, but in the love we poured into every little moment.
So here’s to four months of Anika. To the cuddles, the sleepy eyes, the baby talks, and the quiet joy that fills our home.
And a big thanks to Lovely and Gudi for capturing this memory with so much care. Next month, maybe we will try rose for 5 stars. Or something else she can one day smile about.
Until then, we keep celebrating her...
Anika's Milestone: First Roll Over Moments
Yesterday evening, a tiny miracle unfolded right in front of my eyes. It left me in awe of how precious and fleeting time truly is. Anika, my little bundle of joy, decided to surprise us a big milestones at once. At 8:50 PM, she amazed us again by rolling onto her tummy!
For a second, the world around us paused. Rajashree and I exchanged a look that said, “Did we just witness that?” Anika, on the other hand, looked absolutely thrilled, as if she knew she had achieved something monumental. Her eyes sparkled with excitement. Her tiny fists clenched in victory. Her face lit up with a pride so pure it melted our hearts.

We didn’t waste a second capturing this milestone. Pictures and videos were taken, and of course, the news was quickly shared with our family WhatsApp groups. The blessings, wishes, and love poured in, reminding us how Anika’s little moments bring happiness to everyone connected to her.
In that moment, I felt a mix of emotions – joy, pride, and a deep sense of gratitude. Watching her grow, learn, and explore her world is nothing short of magical. It also made me realize something important. These milestones, though small in the grand scheme of life, are the ones that truly matter.
Anika’s rolling over was more than just a physical milestone; it was a gentle reminder of how precious time is. She’s growing every day. She is discovering the world one little move at a time. She reminds me to pause, cherish, and celebrate every tiny achievement along the way.
As I think about last night, I can’t help but smile. Life throws its challenges at us, but moments like these are what make it all worthwhile. They remind me that joy often lies in the simplest of things. It's like a tiny baby discovering the magic of movement for the very first time.
Here’s to many more firsts, many more surprises, and many more reasons to celebrate. Anika, you’ve just rolled into a new chapter, and we’re so blessed to be right here, cheering you on. 💕
How Everyday Moments Create Lasting Love
Love doesn’t always come wrapped in grand gestures or poetic words. Love sometimes sneaks up on you during the most ordinary moments. It happens in a late-night conversation, a shared meal, or an unexpected act of kindness. One moment that made me feel truly loved occurred during those quiet nights. The world was asleep, and it was just Rajashree and me.
The Scene: Midnight Chaos Meets Comfort
It was one of those nights when everything seemed to pile up. Anika, our little bundle of energy, was restless and refusing to sleep. I was mentally exhausted after a long day at work. All I wanted was to collapse on the bed and zone out. But parenting doesn’t come with a pause button, does it?
Rajashree, despite being equally exhausted, took charge. “You go lie down. I’ll handle her,” she said.
I protested, but not for long. Honestly, I was so drained that her words felt like a lifeline. I crashed on the bed, only to hear her softly singing to Anika in the next room.
A Quiet Act of Love
Anika eventually calmed down and fell asleep. Instead of joining me in bed, Rajashree quietly tidied up the room. She folded tiny clothes and arranged toys that had somehow taken over our lives.
When she finally lay down, I mumbled something about how she didn’t have to do all that. She just smiled and said, “I know. But it needed to be done, and you looked like you really needed rest.”
In that moment, I felt an overwhelming wave of gratitude and love.
Why It Mattered
It wasn’t about the act itself—putting the baby to sleep or tidying up the room. It was about what it meant. It was her way of saying, I’ve got your back. We’re in this together.
Love, I realized, isn’t always about big declarations. It’s in the everyday sacrifices. It's found in the unspoken gestures. It's also in the quiet moments when someone chooses to put your needs ahead of their own.
The Takeaway: Love Is in the Small Stuff
That night taught me that love doesn’t need to be loud to be felt. Sometimes, it’s in the simplest acts of care. It can be a hand on your shoulder. It can be a knowing smile or someone letting you rest when they know you need it most.
And honestly, it’s those little moments that stay with you. In the end, love relies less on words. It's more about actions. I’m lucky to experience it in the smallest, yet most meaningful ways.
Anika’s Third-Month Celebration: A Starry Night with a Rice Twist
Time keeps flying, and before we knew it, Anika turned three months old. With every milestone, she grows more curious and expressive, filling our home with endless joy. To celebrate her third month, we wanted to do something creative and different yet again. This time, the theme was inspired by the simplicity of everyday things combined with a hint of the night sky. My wife Lovely and my sisters Gudi and Sruti once again worked their magic, transforming an ordinary evening into a memory we’ll cherish forever.
The Idea Behind the Photoshoot
When planning her third-month photoshoot, we decided to use things that are part of our daily lives but often overlooked. That’s how we came up with the idea of using rice to create the number “3.” It felt meaningful—representing nourishment and growth, much like what Anika symbolizes for us. For the backdrop, we chose a vibrant red and navy-blue blanket, creating a starry-night effect. Adding small star cutouts gave it an extra dreamy vibe.
Lovely dressed Anika in a soft white top adorned with tiny red and navy-blue designs, perfectly complementing the backdrop. She paired it with beige shorts that had the words “Pretty Girl” embroidered on them—a fitting choice for our little princess. A pastel pink headband completed the look, making her look as adorable as ever.
The Day of the Shoot
On the day of the photoshoot, the excitement was palpable. Anika, now more aware of her surroundings, seemed curious about the setup. Lovely kept her calm and engaged with soft lullabies while Gudi and Sruti got to work arranging the rice into a perfect “3.” It took a bit of effort—rice has a mind of its own, after all—but they eventually got it right.
As we placed Anika on the blanket, she immediately started observing her surroundings. Her tiny hands clasped together, and her eyes followed the camera with an almost inquisitive look. She gave us a range of expressions, from her classic sleepy gaze to a playful smirk. Every moment felt precious.
A Celebration of Growth
This photoshoot wasn’t just about marking three months; it was a reflection of how far we’ve come as a family. The rice, the stars, the vibrant colors—everything felt symbolic of the journey so far. The stars represented the dreams we have for Anika, while the rice symbolized the foundation of love and care she’s been growing on.
Watching Lovely, Gudi, and Sruti pour their hearts into every detail made me realize how much love surrounds Anika. From arranging the rice to capturing the perfect angle, every little effort spoke volumes about how much she means to all of us.
A Starry Memory to Hold On To
The photos turned out to be a perfect blend of simplicity and creativity. Anika lying next to the rice “3,” with tiny stars scattered around her, looked like a scene straight out of a storybook. But what made it truly special was the love and laughter that went into creating it.
These photoshoots have become more than just monthly milestones; they’re a way for us to bond as a family and celebrate the little things that make life beautiful. As I look at the pictures now, I feel grateful for these moments that remind us to pause and cherish the journey of parenthood.
When Anika looks back at these photos someday, I hope she sees more than just pictures. I hope she feels the love, creativity, and joy that went into celebrating every tiny milestone of her life. And as for us, we’ll always treasure these memories of our little star growing brighter with each passing month.
Anika’s First Christmas Photoshoot: A Festive Celebration Full of Smiles
Christmas this year was extra special for us because it was Anika’s very first. The season of joy and togetherness felt even more magical with her around. To mark the occasion, my nephew Dugu and my wife Lovely decided to put together a small, heartwarming Christmas photoshoot for our little bundle of joy. With a Santa hat, a festive red outfit, and Anika’s contagious smile, it turned into a memory we’ll treasure forever.
The Festive Planning
As the holiday season rolled in, the idea of a Christmas-themed photoshoot came naturally. Lovely, as always, took the lead in planning the details while Dugu contributed with his creative flair. The theme was simple: Christmas vibes with a hint of Anika’s charm.
Lovely dressed Anika in a bright red romper with an adorable bunny design on the front. The outfit had tiny polka-dot straps that added a playful touch. Topping it off with a classic red-and-white Santa hat was Dugu’s idea, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Together, they created a setup that was festive yet intimate, making it feel like a true celebration of the season.
The Day of the Shoot
The shoot was set up on a cozy navy-blue blanket to make the bright reds pop. Anika, now more interactive and curious, seemed to enjoy the attention. As we placed the Santa hat on her head, she gave us a look of pure innocence, followed by a mischievous smile that melted our hearts.
Dugu took charge of the camera while Lovely ensured Anika was comfortable and in the mood to play along. Anika’s little hands reached out in excitement, and her expressions ranged from wide-eyed wonder to giggles that lit up the entire room. She seemed to know that this day was all about her, and she truly embraced the spotlight.
The Magic of the Moment
What made this photoshoot special wasn’t just the adorable setup or the festive theme—it was the love and effort that Dugu and Lovely poured into it. Watching them work together to capture Anika’s joy reminded me of the true essence of Christmas: family, love, and making memories that last a lifetime.
The Santa hat, the bright red romper, and Anika’s radiant smile brought the holiday spirit to life. Every click of the camera captured not just her adorable poses but also the laughter and happiness that filled the room.
A Christmas to Remember
Looking at the photos now, I can’t help but smile. Anika’s first Christmas photoshoot wasn’t just a festive activity; it was a celebration of how much joy she has brought into our lives. The images are a blend of her innocence, the magic of the season, and the love of a family that cherishes her every moment.
When Anika grows up and sees these photos, I hope she feels the warmth of that Christmas day. For us, this photoshoot is more than just a collection of pictures—it’s a reminder of the love that binds us together and the happiness that Anika has brought into our home.
This Christmas, our little Santa didn’t just make the season brighter; she made our hearts fuller. And as we move forward, these memories will remain etched in our minds, reminding us of a Christmas filled with laughter, love, and the sweetest little Santa we could ever ask for.
Anika’s Two-Month Celebration: A Sweet Homegrown Photoshoot
Two months flew by in the blink of an eye, and Anika continued to surprise us with her little quirks and growing personality. To mark this milestone, we decided to have another photoshoot at home. This time, the theme was just as creative but had a fresh and citrusy twist. My wife Lovely, along with my sisters Gudi and Sruti, teamed up once again to create a simple yet meaningful setup that reflected how much joy Anika brings to our lives.
Planning the Two-Month Photoshoot
After the success of Anika’s one-month photoshoot, we wanted to do something equally unique but with a new touch. While brainstorming, someone suggested using fruits for the number “2,” and it instantly clicked. Oranges were the perfect choice—not just for their bright color but also for the cheerful energy they brought to the setup.
Lovely chose a soft peach-colored outfit with tiny white hearts for Anika, matching the citrus theme perfectly. Gudi and Sruti worked on transforming our living room into a mini studio once again. A soft white bedsheet was laid down as the base, and the oranges were arranged carefully to form the number “2” next to Anika. It was simple, fresh, and had a warm vibe that matched Anika’s ever-growing charm.
The Day of the Photoshoot
The morning of the shoot started with the usual excitement and a little bit of chaos. Anika, true to her unpredictable nature, decided she wasn’t in the mood initially. Lovely worked her magic as usual, singing softly to her and rocking her gently until she was calm and content. Once she was ready, it was game on.
As soon as we placed her in the setup, she seemed to settle right in. Gudi and Sruti took charge of the props and lighting, while Lovely made sure Anika was comfortable and her outfit was picture-perfect. The oranges, though simple, added a vibrant element to the frame, and Anika looked radiant in the soft glow of natural light streaming through the windows.
Anika’s expressions were the highlight of the shoot. From her curious gaze to her tiny hand gestures, she gave us a variety of moments to capture. At one point, she even let out a little smile, as if she knew she was the star of the day. Watching her in that peach dress, lying next to the oranges, felt like looking at a perfect painting come to life.
Why This Photoshoot Felt Special
This two-month milestone felt like a celebration of how much she had grown in such a short time. From her tiny yawn during the one-month shoot to her alert, curious expressions this time, it was clear that she was already evolving into her own little person.
The oranges weren’t just props; they represented the fresh energy she brought into our lives every day. Lovely’s thoughtful outfit choice, Gudi’s attention to detail, and Sruti’s lighthearted jokes during the setup added layers of love to this simple photoshoot. For us, these weren’t just pictures. They were snapshots of a phase we never wanted to forget.
The Joy of Capturing Memories
Once again, the photoshoot became more than just a creative exercise. It was a family bonding moment, filled with laughter, joy, and the occasional “move that orange slightly to the left!” Anika’s two-month celebration reminded us how precious these small milestones are.
When we look back at these photos years from now, we’ll see more than just Anika lying next to a “2” made of oranges. We’ll see the love, effort, and togetherness that made these moments possible. And someday, when Anika looks at these pictures, I hope she feels the warmth and joy of a family that cherishes every moment with her.
This two-month celebration, much like her one-month milestone, was a reminder of how the simplest things—like a few oranges and a lot of love—can create memories that last a lifetime.
Anika’s One-Month Milestone: Full of Love and Memories
When Anika turned one month old, it felt like a milestone that deserved more than just a quiet acknowledgment. It called for celebration, reflection, and memories that would last forever. To mark this special occasion, my wife Lovely took charge. Along with my sister Sruti, they decided to organize a photoshoot at home. What unfolded that day wasn’t just about capturing pictures. It was about capturing love. It was about laughter and the pure joy of having Anika in our lives.
The idea of an at-home photoshoot came naturally. Why go for fancy studio setups when the comfort of home carries its own charm? We cleared out a cozy little corner in the house and turned it into Anika’s mini studio. Lovely picked out Anika’s outfit—a delightful floral dress that matched her blossoming personality perfectly. To add a creative touch, Sruti suggested arranging candies to form the number “1.” This idea quickly became the central theme of the shoot.
Setting Up: Transforming Home Into a Mini Studio
The morning of the photoshoot was a mix of excitement and hustle. We cleared out a corner of the house, spreading a crisp white bedsheet as the base. The soft, neutral background complemented the bright colors of Anika’s outfit. Sruti took charge of the decorations, adding her creative flair. She carefully arranged pink candies into a perfect “1” next to Anika. This part turned out to be trickier than we thought, as the candies refused to stay aligned. After several attempts (and quite a few jokes), she finally got it right.
Lovely, being the doting mom she is, ensured Anika was well-fed, comfortable, and ready for her big moment. She adjusted Anika’s floral dress. She placed a tiny pink headband on her. She also added a small bindi for that traditional touch. We stepped back to admire the setup. It felt like everything had come together beautifully. It was simple yet full of love.
The Photoshoot: Capturing Every Precious Moment
Anika, as if understanding the importance of the day, surprised us all with her calm demeanor. She lay on the white sheet, her tiny hands occasionally moving, and her curious eyes watching the camera flashes. She was the star of the day, and she owned it like a pro!
The first few shots focused on Anika’s tiny expressions. They captured her soft smile, her wide-open eyes, and even her little yawns. As the shoot progressed, Anika started showing her playful side. She wiggled her hands and feet. It was almost as if she was posing. It was a sight to behold.
At one point, Anika gave us her signature sleepy look. Sruti instantly clicked the shutter. It turned out to be one of the best shots of the day. Lovely, on the other hand, was busy ensuring Anika stayed comfortable throughout. And me? I was the official cheerleader, capturing behind-the-scenes moments on my phone.
Why This Photoshoot Was Special
This wasn’t just about the pictures; it was about creating a memory that encapsulated Anika’s first month in the world. The candies forming the “1” symbolized her first milestone. The floral dress reflected the brightness she brought into our lives. Every shot captured not just her innocence. It also captured the love and effort we all poured into making this day special.
When I look at those photos now, I don’t just see Anika in her cute little outfit. I see Sruti crouching awkwardly to get the perfect angle, and Lovely softly humming to keep Anika calm. I see a family coming together to celebrate the newest addition to our lives.
Memories That Will Last Forever
The photoshoot ended with a sense of fulfillment. We managed to capture not just Anika’s expressions but also the essence of our family’s love for her. As we scrolled through the pictures later that evening, we couldn’t help but smile. Each photo told a story—of a baby discovering the world and a family discovering joy in the little things.
When Anika grows up and sees these photos someday, I hope she feels the love that surrounded her that day. This photoshoot will always remind us of the day we celebrated her first milestone. We did this in the simplest, most heartfelt way.
A Rainy Day, Mixed Emotions, and Our Baby's Naming CeremonyLovely and Me Holding Anika
The 21st day had finally arrived. It was a day we had been eagerly anticipating—a day to officially welcome our baby into the world and celebrate with family, friends, and neighbors. Our home in Puri Talamali Sahi had been transformed for the occasion, with colorful lights twinkling, balloons swaying gently, and the scent of fresh flowers filling the air. The stage was set, but like most memorable events, the journey to this day was filled with its share of challenges.
The Preparations: A Family Effort
0:00
/0:42
The preparations began early. With Rajashree still recovering from her C-section, the task of getting the house ready fell to my mother, who took charge of cleaning and making sure everything was in perfect order. One of our close neighbors offered a helping hand, assisting us with balloon decorations and setting up the lights that added a festive sparkle to every corner.
Bapi Mamu, my maternal uncle, handled the food and drink arrangements. In Odisha, we call our maternal uncles "Mamu," and he has always been the dependable organizer in the family. With Mahaprashada (Abhada) arranged and refreshments in place, everything seemed to be falling into order—except for one thing that was beyond our control.
The Rain and Mixed Emotions
My Dad Holding My Baby Girl, Anika
The weather decided to test our patience that day. A deep depression over the Bay of Bengal brought heavy rain in the morning, and dark clouds lingered over our heads as if threatening to ruin the day. I kept checking the weather, hoping it would clear up in time for the ceremony. It wasn’t just the rain weighing on my mind; there was an odd mix of emotions. I was excited, nervous, and, honestly, a bit anxious. After all, this was one of the most significant moments for our little one, and I wanted everything to go just right.
A Change of Plans for the Baby’s Outfit
Amidst all the hustle, there was a last-minute change that added to the day's excitement. Rajashree had chosen a white romper for the baby, thinking it would be a simple and elegant choice. But my parents felt that it wasn’t festive enough for such a joyous occasion. So, in the eleventh hour, we switched to a beautiful pink dress that the baby's uncle had brought. The new outfit seemed perfect, adding a bright and cheerful touch to the celebration.
The Ritual: A Moment of Tradition, Love, and a Name
0:00
/0:22
Traditional Rituals Being Performed at Home
The ceremony began at 7:30 PM, just as the last droplets of rain faded away, almost as if nature itself was giving us its blessing. Friends, family, and neighbors gathered in the living room, filling the space with warmth and chatter. As the priest led us through the rituals, we reached the most awaited moment—the moment our little one would receive a name.
Rajashree's brother, Bulu bhai, leaned in close, whispering the carefully chosen name into the baby's left ear, just as tradition dictates. The room seemed to hold its breath as he spoke. It was a moment that felt deeply sacred, as if that single word carried the hopes, love, and blessings of the entire family. From that point on, our little one was no longer just “the baby.” She was Anika.
A Small Hiccup Amidst the Celebrations
As the rituals continued, things took a brief, worrying turn. The room was quite crowded, and Anika seemed to be struggling a bit. She started to vomit, probably overwhelmed by the number of people around her. It was a moment that made my heart skip a beat. We quickly created some space to let her breathe, and thankfully, she was back to her usual self soon after. Still, it was a reminder that even in the midst of tradition and celebration, parenthood can bring unexpected challenges.
Post-Ceremony Moments: Capturing the Day
Some Happy Moments!
The day was far from over. After the rituals concluded, we took some time to capture a few family photos and videos. It had been hectic, with a mix of anxiety, relief, and pure joy. Yet, as we looked at the twinkling lights and the smiling faces around us, it felt like every effort was worth it. The rain had stopped just in time, as if it too had joined in blessing our little Anika.
In the end, the ceremony was more than just a ritual. It was a day where tradition met modern life, where family and friends came together, and where we took the first steps in our journey with Anika—our little star, now officially named.
Finding the Perfect Name: How We Let Fate Choose Our Baby's Name
When our daughter arrived on September 30th, life took on a whole new meaning. Those first days were a mix of joy, exhaustion, and disbelief that we were actually parents now.
And in the middle of all that chaos, one question kept popping up: what should we name her? It wasn’t just about finding something that sounded nice; we wanted a name that truly felt right for her, something meaningful that she could grow up with.
Why It Had to Be Special
From the start, we knew there was a deeper connection at play. Our daughter was born on the first day of Navaratri, a time that holds special significance for us. Rajashree is a devoted follower of Goddess Durga, and with our daughter making her entrance on such an auspicious day, it felt natural to choose a name related to Maa Durga.
We wanted it to symbolize strength and grace, something that would carry a piece of the divine with it.
But as we started exploring names, we realized we didn’t want to force it. The name didn’t have to fit into any strict mold; it just needed to feel right.
So, we decided to start with names beginning with "A." It felt like a fresh start, and honestly, we just liked the sound of it. It seemed like a good place to start the journey.
The Hunt for “The One”
We didn’t rush it. We took our time, sifting through baby name lists, chatting about different options over chai, and even listening to some well-meaning suggestions from friends and family. (Yes, there were a few hilarious ones in there too!) But in the end, we knew it had to be a decision we made ourselves.
We came up with a shortlist, names that seemed to fit her in our minds. But none of them gave us that “aha!” moment. It was a bit like trying to find a missing puzzle piece, where nothing quite seemed to snap into place. That’s when we decided to leave it to a bit of fate.
The Moment of Destiny
We thought, why not let her be a part of choosing her own name? So, we wrote our top picks on separate chits, placed them in front of her, and waited to see which one she’d reach for.
There was this tiny moment of suspense as we watched her little hand move, and when she touched one of the chits, we both just looked at each other and smiled. It felt like she had chosen her own name, as if she was already telling us, "This is who I am."
When we unfolded the chit and read the name, it just felt right. Simple, timeless, and meaningful, everything we were looking for. It wasn’t one of those dramatic “this is it!” moments you see in movies, just a quiet certainty that we had found her name. Or rather, she had found it for herself.
Keeping It Close (For Now)
We’re keeping the name to ourselves for a little while longer. It’s our little secret, something we’re holding close as we get used to calling her by it at home. We promise we’ll share it soon.
For now, all we can say is that it’s a name that connects her to something bigger while still letting her carve her own path.
A Lesson in Letting Go
This whole experience wasn’t just about picking a name; it was about learning what it means to be parents. Sometimes, it’s okay to let go of logic, tradition, or what others think you should do.
Sometimes, you just have to trust your instincts and go with what feels right. Letting her be a part of the decision, even in this small way, felt like a reminder that parenting isn’t just about guiding and teaching, it’s about listening and trusting the journey as it unfolds.
If this is any indication of how we’ll navigate the many choices ahead, I think we’ll be okay. We’ll take it step by step, with a bit of faith and a lot of heart. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned already, it’s that some of the best moments in life happen when you just let them.
Welcoming Our Baby Girl into the World: A Beautiful New Beginning
It still feels surreal as I write this, but on 30th September 2024, at 2:08 PM IST, our lives changed forever. Rajashree and I were blessed with a beautiful baby girl at Sum Ultimate, Bhubaneswar. All the waiting, the excitement, the nervous energy—it all came to a climax the moment we heard her first cry.
There’s this indescribable feeling that hits you when you see your child for the first time. It’s like the world fades away for a second, and everything zooms into this tiny little being who has suddenly become the center of your universe.
The Journey Leading Up to the Big Day
I won’t lie—these past few months have been a rollercoaster. From the late-night cravings to the pre-delivery jitters, we’ve had our fair share of emotional ups and downs. But through it all, one thing kept us going: knowing we were about to meet the little person who would make our world complete.
The last few days before the delivery were intense. Rajashree had a scheduled C-section, and while we had mentally prepared ourselves, there’s always that anxiety bubbling under the surface. We both knew that after the 30th, everything would change in the most beautiful way possible.
Meeting Our Daughter
At exactly 2:08 PM, our baby girl entered the world, and with her, she brought a flood of emotions we couldn’t have anticipated. Holding her for the first time was like holding the culmination of all our hopes and dreams, wrapped in the tiniest of bundles. I never realized how much love my heart could hold until I saw her.
The moment she was placed in Rajashree’s arms, I could see the joy and relief in her eyes. After everything we’ve been through, this moment was worth every single second.
A New Chapter Begins
As we adjust to this new chapter, I can’t help but reflect on what lies ahead. There’s so much to look forward to—her first words, her first steps, and all the beautiful moments in between. Of course, I know there will be sleepless nights, countless diaper changes, and moments when we’ll wonder how on earth we’re going to handle it all. But that’s parenthood, right? The beauty of it lies in the chaos.
Gratitude and Love
We are beyond grateful for the love and support we’ve received from our families, friends, and well-wishers. This journey would not have been the same without the people who’ve stood by us every step of the way. To Rajashree, my rock throughout all of this—you are a superhero. Watching you become a mother has been the most heartwarming experience of my life.
And now, as we start this beautiful new chapter, we know one thing for sure—our hearts have never been fuller, and our lives have never been brighter.
This day is just the beginning of a lifetime of memories. Welcome to the world, our little one—you are so, so loved.
Countdown to Parenthood: 12 Days Until Baby Arrives
It’s hard to believe, but we’re just 12 days away from welcoming our baby into the world! Time has both flown by and slowed down at the same time. It feels like we have been waiting forever. Now that the C-section date is marked on the calendar, the reality of it all is sinking in.
I’m caught between excitement. I feel a nervous energy that comes with knowing that life as we know it is about to change. In a big way. The idea that in less than two weeks, Rajashree and I will officially be parents? It’s a lot to wrap my head around.
The Journey So Far
Looking back, this pregnancy journey has been nothing short of amazing—and let’s be real, challenging at times too. Rajashree has been an absolute rock throughout it all, handling each step like the champ she is. There have been tough moments, sleepless nights (for her more than me!), and a lot of doctor visits, but we have come through stronger.
Seeing her experience everything firsthand has been humbling. There were times I felt completely helpless, not knowing what to do other than being there for her. But she’s kept me steady with her calm strength, and for that, I’m forever grateful.
Why We Chose a C-Section
The decision to go with a C-section was not an easy one. We weighed all the options. We discussed them with our doctor. We ultimately chose the safest route for both Rajashree and the baby. It’s not the traditional delivery method. What matters most to us is that everything goes smoothly. Everyone comes out healthy.
When we first heard that tiny heartbeat on the ultrasound, nothing else mattered. All I think was, “We’re in this together, and we’ll do whatever it takes.” Now, with 12 days to go, that sense of responsibility has only grown.
Anticipating the Big Day
I can’t stop imagining what it’s going to feel like when I hold our baby for the first time. Will I cry? Almost definitely. Will I be overwhelmed? Without a doubt. I know it’s going to be one of those moments that stays with me forever. It will be the kind that reshapes everything you thought you knew about life.
There’s a certain quiet excitement that comes with knowing you’re on the edge of something amazing. Like the calm before a storm—not the chaotic kind, but the life-changing, beautiful kind.
What Comes Next
These next 12 days are going to be full of last-minute preparations. There will be final checklists. There will also be more than a few moments of nervous energy. There’s the whole nursery to finish. I need to pack the hospital bag. Of course, I need to mentally prepare myself for the sleep deprivation I know is coming!
But even with all of that, I’m beyond ready. Ready for the sleepless nights, the diaper changes, and the new normal that’s about to hit us. But mostly, I’m ready for the love. I’m ready for the laughter. I’m ready for the joy that’s going to fill our lives once we welcome this little one into our world.
Closing Thoughts
So, here we are, just 12 days to go. It’s a strange mix of excitement. There is also anticipation. A bit of nervousness builds as we count down the final moments before our lives are forever changed. Every day feels like a whirlwind of emotions. We are preparing for this new chapter. We are surrounded by endless lists of baby supplies and heartfelt advice from friends and family.
But in the end, all that really matters is that Rajashree and our baby are safe and healthy. I’ll be right there, holding her hand. I will offer my unwavering support. I am ready to meet our baby with a full heart and open arms. As we approach the moment of arrival, I find myself reflecting on all the dreams we have for our child. I also think of the love that awaits them.
We Did It! The Story of Our MBA Journey
As I sit down to pen this blog post, I can’t help but feel a wave of emotions washing over me. Rajashree and I have finally cleared our MBA, and what a journey it has been! The endless nights of studying, the early mornings spent in the library, the collaborative group projects, and the rigorous exams—each part of this endeavor has left an indelible mark on us.
This achievement is not just a testament to our hard work and dedication but also to the unwavering support of our families, the empathy of our professors, and, yes, a lot of humor that kept us going through the tough times. Reflecting on this journey fills me with gratitude for the people who stood by us, the lessons we’ve learned, and the personal growth we’ve experienced along the way.
It All Started with a Dream
It all started with a shared dream. Rajashree and I had always wanted to pursue an MBA to advance our careers and broaden our horizons. Little did we know that this journey would bring us even closer, testing our patience, resilience, and sense of humour.
From the get-go, we were each other’s biggest cheerleaders. When one of us felt overwhelmed by the avalanche of assignments and deadlines, the other would step in with a pep talk or a cup of coffee. It’s funny how a simple gesture can make such a big difference.
Juggling Work, Studies, and Life
Oh, the late nights and early mornings! Our house often looked like a war zone, with books, notes, and laptops strewn all over. Sleep became a luxury we could barely afford, and weekends? What are those?
I was working full-time while pursuing the MBA, which meant juggling meetings, deadlines, and study sessions. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. Rajashree, on the other hand, was six months pregnant while we were giving our final exams. Talk about superwoman! She handled everything with grace and strength, even when the going got tough.
I remember one particularly grueling week when we had back-to-back exams and project submissions. We were running on fumes, and the only thing keeping us sane was our shared sense of humour. Rajashree would crack jokes about how we were turning into MBA zombies, and I would retaliate with my best zombie impression. Laughter, as it turns out, is the best medicine.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Clearing an MBA is no small feat, and it would have been impossible without each other’s support. Rajashree often says that she couldn’t have done it without me, but honestly, it was a team effort. We leaned on each other, celebrated small victories, and picked each other up after setbacks.
Our family and friends also played a crucial role. Their constant encouragement and understanding were invaluable. There were times when we had to miss family gatherings or social events, but they always understood and stood by us.
The Big Day: Results Are In!
When the results were finally announced, we were ecstatic! We had done it! All those sleepless nights, countless cups of coffee, and moments of self-doubt had paid off. We had achieved our goal, and the feeling was indescribable.
But beyond the academic achievement, this journey taught us so much more. We learned about resilience, teamwork, and the power of a positive mindset. Most importantly, we realized that, together, we could overcome any obstacle.
What’s Next? New Beginnings!
As we move forward, we are filled with excitement and optimism. Our MBA has opened new doors for us, and we are ready to take on new challenges. But no matter where life takes us, we will always cherish this journey and the lessons it has taught us.
To anyone out there pursuing a similar goal, remember this: The journey might be tough, but with support, empathy, and a good sense of humour, you can achieve anything. Celebrate the small victories, lean on your loved ones, and don’t forget to laugh along the way.
And with that, Rajashree and I raise a toast to our MBA journey. It’s been one heck of a ride, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Cheers to love, support, and laughter – the true ingredients of success!
Finding Balance: Honoring My True Self While Navigating Expectations
Life’s journey is full of important questions, and one that often comes up for me is: Am I really being true to myself, or am I just trying to make others happy? This question is simple but deep and affects many decisions I make and paths I take. It resonates with me in various aspects of my life, from my career choices to personal relationships. It’s a question that nudges me to reflect on my values, desires, and aspirations, urging me to find a balance between honoring my authentic self and considering the impact of my actions on those around me. This introspection has become a cornerstone of my decision-making process, shaping the way I navigate through the complexities of life, relationships, and personal growth.
Growing up in a traditional Indian family, I was taught early to always think about making others happy. The question “What will people think?” influenced almost everything, from small daily choices to big life decisions. This often pushed aside my own dreams and desires. In this environment, I learned the value of self-sacrifice and putting others first, but it also meant that I struggled to prioritize my own happiness and fulfillment.
As I navigated through adulthood, I started realizing the importance of finding a balance between meeting the expectations of my family and community, and staying true to my own aspirations and well-being. It has been a journey of self-discovery and learning to value my own desires and dreams while still respecting the traditions and values that are important to me.
When I was young, I loved learning about space and the stars. I spent many hours with friends gathering pictures and articles about aliens and space exploration. These were the things that truly excited me. However, as I got older, I had to put these interests aside to meet the expectations of those around me.
I also had a deep fascination with how the human body works, and I dreamed of being a doctor, specifically a neurologist. But the people around me thought this was too ambitious and unrealistic given our family’s situation. Conversations at home were filled with advice from relatives and family friends about choosing a “practical” and “secure” career. Gradually, my dream of becoming a doctor was pushed aside for more traditional career paths.
Early in my career, I remember nights spent buried under piles of paperwork, feeling the heavy weight of meeting everyone else’s expectations but my own. It was during one of these late nights, surrounded by plans and files that reflected everyone’s vision but mine, that I realized something needed to change.
This pattern of trying to please others first showed up clearly when I had to choose my major in college. Even though I was really interested in computers and IT, I ended up choosing Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE). I felt out of place right from the start. The subjects that my classmates found exciting were completely uninteresting to me. I had no passion for them, and each class was a reminder that I was not on the right path.
Feeling out of place was tough; it made me feel disappointed and frustrated. I had made a significant life choice based on what others wanted, not what I wanted. This difficult experience, however, taught me a very important lesson about following my own path and staying true to what I’m passionate about. This lesson has guided many of the choices I’ve made since then.
Through these experiences, I’ve learned how important it is to balance making others happy with being true to myself. It’s not about ignoring what others need, but making sure that my choices truly reflect who I am inside. Now, I try harder to listen to my own voice. Every decision I make is an opportunity to ensure that my life reflects my true self.
In this ongoing journey of self-discovery, I’ve realized that being true to oneself isn’t selfish; it’s essential for a fulfilled life. Each day offers a new chance to align more closely with my true self, making choices that enrich both my personal and professional life. The most important conversation is the one I have with myself each night before bed, looking in the mirror, knowing I’ve lived another day true to myself. That’s the promise I renew every night, to that reflection staring back at me.
The Evolution of Success: Redefining What It Means to Win
Success is a chameleon. It changes color with our age, our experiences, and our personal growth. Looking back, my definition of success has undergone a dramatic transformation. In my younger days, success was a shiny object—visible, tangible, and often tied to external validation. But as I’ve navigated life’s winding paths, I’ve discovered that true success is deeply personal, more about inner fulfillment than outward accolades.
When I first started my professional journey, I was fixated on climbing the corporate ladder. I believed that success was measured by job titles, promotions, and the size of my paycheck. I threw myself into work, often staying up late, sacrificing personal time, and pushing myself to the brink of exhaustion. The thrill of a new title or a raise was intoxicating. It felt like winning a race, a validation of my hard work and dedication. But beneath that thrill, there was a growing sense of emptiness.
I recall a time when I had just received a significant promotion. On paper, it was a triumph. Yet, as I sat alone in my office that night, the elation quickly faded, replaced by a nagging question: “Is this it?” That moment was a wake-up call. I realized that the external markers of success, while important, were not enough to sustain a deep sense of fulfillment.
Joining the X Money community was a pivotal moment in my journey. Engaging with like-minded individuals about financial literacy and personal growth expanded my horizons. It dawned on me that success wasn’t just about accumulating wealth, but about achieving financial independence and security. It was about making informed decisions that aligned with my long-term goals and values. This shift in perspective was liberating. It transformed my approach to money from one of pursuit to one of purpose.
Another milestone in my redefinition of success was pursuing an MBA in ITSM. Initially, it seemed like a logical step to advance my career. But it turned out to be so much more. Success began to feel like an intellectual adventure, a journey of continuous learning and growth. It wasn’t about adding another degree to my resume, but about expanding my knowledge and challenging myself.
On a deeply personal level, my relationship with Rajashree and our upcoming parenthood have profoundly reshaped my vision of success. Preparing for the arrival of our baby has brought a new dimension to my life. Success now encompasses creating a loving and supportive environment, being present for my family, and finding joy in everyday moments. It’s about striking a balance between professional aspirations and personal commitments, and cherishing the simple, yet profound experiences that life offers.
Reflecting on these changes, I’ve come to understand that success is not a static goal but a dynamic process. It’s about aligning our achievements with our values and finding happiness in the journey rather than just the destination. It’s about growth—professional, intellectual, and emotional.
In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in the chase for external markers of success. But true success, I’ve learned, lies in defining it on our own terms. It’s about setting meaningful, personal benchmarks and finding fulfillment in our pursuits. It’s a personal narrative that each of us writes, shaped by our experiences, aspirations, and the unique paths we choose to walk.
As I continue this journey, I remind myself that success is about becoming the best version of myself, day by day. It’s about making progress, however small, and finding contentment in the process. Most importantly, it’s about understanding that success will continue to evolve as I do, and that’s what makes the journey truly worthwhile.
So now, I am asking you, what does success mean to you?
Embracing the Unknown: Exciting Plans for the Future
As I sit at my desk, a gentle breeze drifting through the open window, I find myself reflecting on the past and, more importantly, looking ahead to the future. There’s a certain magic in the air, a blend of excitement and anticipation that fills my heart with a sense of wonder. The future, with all its uncertainties and possibilities, beckons like an uncharted adventure waiting to be explored.
In the midst of this reflection, one particular aspect of the future stands out, something that fills me with unparalleled excitement: the upcoming arrival of our baby. Rajeshree and I are eagerly counting down the days until we welcome this new life into our world. The thought of holding our little one for the first time, seeing those tiny fingers and toes, and hearing that first cry is a feeling beyond words. It’s a beautiful mix of joy, nervousness, and overwhelming love.
But it’s not just about becoming parents. The future holds so much promise in various facets of our lives. Professionally, I’m deeply engrossed in my research on the impact of Generative AI on cybersecurity. This endeavor has opened my eyes to the vast potential and challenges of the digital age. The thrill of discovering new insights and contributing to a field that’s evolving at lightning speed is invigorating. I can almost see the horizon where our technological advancements meet the critical need for robust security measures, and I’m excited to be a part of that journey.
Moreover, my ongoing projects and engagements continue to inspire me. Helping Rajeshree with her MBA project on the impact of remote work on employee engagement and productivity has been an enlightening experience. We’ve had countless discussions, exchanged ideas, and learned so much together. This collaborative effort has not only strengthened our bond but also deepened our understanding of the modern work environment. It’s fascinating to witness how remote work is reshaping the landscape and how organizations are adapting to this new paradigm.
On a personal note, our love for travel remains undiminished. The memories of our trips to Sambalpur and San Francisco are etched in our hearts, and we dream of future adventures in places like Switzerland. The excitement of exploring new cultures, tasting exotic cuisines, and immersing ourselves in breathtaking landscapes is a passion we both share. Each journey adds a new chapter to our story, enriching our lives with experiences that go beyond words.
And then there’s the simple joy of everyday life. From enjoying a quiet evening listening to music to diving into a captivating book, these moments of tranquility and reflection are treasures in themselves. My passion for writing, whether it’s tweets on leadership and self-development or in-depth blog posts, continues to be a source of fulfillment. Connecting with like-minded individuals, sharing insights, and learning from others is a journey of constant growth.
As I look ahead, I realize that the future is not just a distant destination but a series of moments waiting to be lived. It’s about embracing the unknown with an open heart, cherishing the present, and dreaming big. The excitement lies in the journey, the experiences that shape us, and the people we share them with.
So, here’s to the future—full of promise, potential, and endless possibilities. I can’t wait to see what it holds for us, and I’m ready to embrace every moment with open arms. After all, the best is yet to come.
My Most Memorable Vacation: A Journey to Rourkela
In 2023, I went on an unforgettable journey to Rourkela with my sister Gudi, Lovely, my uncle, and my aunt. It was a trip filled with laughter, surprises, and memorable experiences that we still cherish to this day.
Our adventure kicked off at Veda Vyasa, a place steeped in history and spirituality. Imagine standing at the very spot where the great sage Veda Vyasa is believed to have dictated the Mahabharata! The air was thick with the weight of history, and the tranquil surroundings added to the magic. The confluence of the Koel, Shankha, and Saraswati Rivers formed a serene backdrop, making it feel like we were in a different era, connected to the stories of the past.
Next, we visited Hanuman Vatika, which houses a towering statue of Hanuman. The sheer size of the statue was awe-inspiring. As we stood at the foot of this majestic figure, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe and reverence. The park around the statue was peaceful, offering a perfect place to relax and take in the beauty of our surroundings. We spent hours there, lost in the tranquility and marveling at the craftsmanship of the statue.
Our stay at Pahadi Hotel was equally memorable. When we arrived, we were greeted by the joyous sounds of a wedding celebration. The hotel was alive with music, laughter, and the vibrant energy of the festivities. It created a wonderful atmosphere that added a unique charm to our stay. That evening, we decided to have some fun at the hotel’s swimming pool. We splashed around, played games, and enjoyed the cool water. It was a perfect way to unwind and bond with each other. After our pool adventure, we had a sumptuous dinner, sharing stories and laughter, making the evening even more special.
The next day, we embarked on our journey back to Sambalpur. The drive was over 100 kilometers, and somewhere along the way, we realized we had forgotten to bring plates for our lunch. This led to an impromptu roadside picnic. We stood by the side of the road, enjoying our biryani and laughing at our forgetfulness. What could have been a minor inconvenience turned into a fun and memorable experience, reminding us that sometimes the best moments come from unexpected situations.
Our trip ended on a high note with a celebration at my aunt’s home in Sambalpur. It was her anniversary, and we were thrilled to be there to celebrate with her. The joy and love in the air were palpable, making it a perfect end to our memorable vacation.
This trip to Rourkela was more than just a vacation; it was a journey filled with laughter, surprises, and cherished moments with family. It reminded me that sometimes, the best memories are made in the simplest of moments, and that the joy of travel is as much about the people you share it with as it is about the places you visit.
Pregnancy Discovery: A New Beginning with Our Little Miracle
June 26, 2024, is a date etched in my heart. It marks not only the 9th anniversary of my marriage to Rajashree but also the day we discovered we were expecting a baby! On that beautiful day, we reminisced about our journey together, reflecting on the highs and lows, the laughter and tears that had shaped our relationship.
This year, our anniversary was filled with unexpected joy and excitement. The news of our upcoming addition to the family added an extra layer of happiness i.e we are expecting a baby, making it truly unforgettable and even more special than any previous celebration.
Anniversary Plans and a Day at Juhu Beach
To celebrate our 9th anniversary, I took the day off to be with Rajashree, whom I affectionately call Lovely. Initially, we planned a visit to South Mumbai, hoping to explore some of our favorite spots and enjoy a special meal. However, due to Lovely feeling a bit under the weather with persistent nausea, we decided it would be best to stay closer to home and visit Juhu Beach instead.
We set off at 10 AM on a sunny day, guided by Apple Maps, as we were unfamiliar with the route. The drive was pleasant, filled with conversation and laughter, as we reminisced about our years together. By the time we arrived at Juhu Beach around 1:30 PM, Lovely was quite hungry. After finding a good restaurant and having a satisfying meal, we headed to the beach by 2:30 PM.
At Juhu Beach, we strolled along the shore, reminiscing about our journey together. The cool breeze and the sound of the waves added to the day’s special charm. We talked about our future and the thrilling news of our baby, making it one of our most memorable anniversaries.
We started our journey back home at 4 PM, covering the 26 kilometers to Lodha Crown Quality Homes in Majiwada in about 2 hours due to Mumbai’s heavy traffic.
Discovering the Miracle
That evening, unaware of the miracle awaiting us, Lovely’s ongoing sickness and vomiting had us concerned. Ten days earlier, a pregnancy test had come back negative, so we attributed her illness to a stomach issue. However, to be sure, we decided to take another test.
The Positive Test and Night of Dreams
While on a call with a colleague, Lovely took the test. A few minutes later, she returned with tears in her eyes, revealing the positive result. Initially surprised and confused, we soon embraced, overwhelmed with happiness and excitement, knowing our lives were about to change wonderfully.
That night, we couldn’t sleep. We talked for hours about our future, hopes, and dreams for our little one. It felt like the start of a beautiful new chapter. We discussed baby names and how to rearrange our home for the nursery. Lovely had many ideas for decorating the baby’s room, and I was eager to contribute.
As the night progressed, our conversation deepened. We talked about the kind of parents we wanted to be, the values we hoped to instill in our child, and creating a loving environment. We promised to support each other through every challenge and cherish every moment of this incredible journey.
Preparations and Sharing the News
The following days were filled with emotions and preparations. We scheduled our first prenatal appointment and started reading about pregnancy and parenting. Every day brought new discoveries, joy, and anticipation. Lovely’s health became our top priority, ensuring she got the rest and nutrition she needed.
Sharing the news with our families was unforgettable. We told them in person to witness their reactions firsthand. Their tears, hugs, and overwhelming joy were moments we will always treasure.
New Routine and Embracing the Journey
As weeks passed, we settled into a new routine with doctor visits, prenatal vitamins, and gentle park walks. Every milestone, from the first ultrasound to hearing our baby’s heartbeat, was celebrated with immense joy and gratitude. We began journaling these moments, knowing we would cherish them forever.
Preparing for our little miracle added new meaning to our lives. Our love grew stronger, and our bond deepened as we embraced this new phase together. We knew the journey ahead would include challenges and sleepless nights, but we were ready to face them hand in hand, united by love and the promise of a beautiful future.
Anniversary Reflections and Future Dreams
Reflecting on our anniversary, I am reminded of the strength and resilience we have built over the years. Our journey has been filled with love, laughter, and learning, and now, the anticipation of welcoming our baby has added a new dimension to our lives. We often find ourselves daydreaming about the future, imagining the joys and challenges of parenthood, and the many memories we will create as a family.
Our conversations are now more on discussions about baby names, nursery themes, and the kind of parents we aspire to be. We want to create a nurturing environment where our child feels loved and supported, and we are committed to teaching them the values that matter most to us—kindness, integrity, and resilience.
Building a Support Network
As first-time parents, we recognize the importance of building a strong support network. We have started reaching out to friends and family who have children, seeking their advice and learning from their experiences. Their insights have been invaluable, providing us with practical tips and emotional support as we navigate this new chapter.
We have also joined parenting groups and online communities, where we can connect with other expectant parents and share our journey. These connections have been a source of comfort and reassurance, reminding us that we are not alone in this journey.
Embracing the Changes
As we prepare for our baby’s arrival, we are embracing the changes that come with this new phase of life. Our home is gradually transforming to accommodate our little one, with new furniture, baby gear, and a cozy nursery taking shape. Each step brings us closer to the day we will welcome our baby into our lives.
We are also making adjustments to our routines and lifestyles, prioritizing health and well-being to ensure the best possible start for our child. This includes maintaining a balanced diet, staying active, and finding ways to manage stress and stay positive.
A Journey of Love and Anticipation
As we move forward, our journey is one of love, hope, and anticipation. Every day brings us closer to meeting our baby, and with each passing moment, our excitement grows. We are ready to face the challenges and joys of parenthood, knowing that we have each other for support and strength.
Our love story continues to evolve, enriched by the promise of a new life and the dreams we hold for our future family. It is a journey of discovery and growth, one that we embrace with open hearts and eager anticipation.
June 26, 2024, will always hold a special place in our hearts as the day we celebrated our love and discovered the beautiful miracle of new life. It is a day that marks the beginning of a new chapter, one that we will cherish forever.
