Why I Prefer Quiet Music Over Live Performances
My personal take on live performances and why I prefer the comfort of my own space for enjoying music without distractions.

Honestly, I don’t like live performances.
There is something about the whole setup that just doesn’t sit well with me. The loud noise bothers me. The forced excitement feels unnatural. The overcrowded venue is overwhelming. I also hate the feeling of being stuck in a place where I’d rather not be. I’ve tried giving it a shot a few times, but it never clicked for me. I’ve always felt out of place.
So, to answer the question, I had to dig into some old memories. The last live performance I saw was probably during one of those college festivals. I don't even remember the name of the event. A few local performers were on stage. They were singing and dancing. The crowd was pretending to have the time of their lives. I was standing at the back, hoping it would end soon. I didn’t even wait for the last act. I left halfway through and found peace at a nearby food stall with a plate of momos.
That evening felt better after I walked away from the noise.
It’s not that I don’t enjoy music or talent. I do. But I prefer experiencing it in my own space, at my own pace. A good playlist, a calm room, and no crowd around me, that’s my performance. I can enjoy every beat without being pushed around or waiting in line for overpriced snacks.
If live shows bring joy to you, I’m happy for you. But for me, the best performances are the ones I enjoy in silence, with no interruptions and no fake cheers.
