For One Day, I’d Be a Politician

For a day, I would like to be a politician, gaining understanding, empathy, and respect for their challenging roles and decisions.

For One Day, I’d Be a Politician

If I ever get a chance to do one job, I would choose to become a politician. I would do it just for one day.

Not because I want power or security or to sit in a big office. I just want to know what it feels like to be in their shoes, even for a short time.

I want to see how it feels when hundreds of people expect you to solve their problems. I want to attend a public meeting, talk to people, and hear what they are going through. I want to feel the pressure of giving answers when you know the solution is not simple.

I want to sit in one of those long meetings. Everyone is talking at once. Nothing really gets done. I want to try speaking to the media and watch how one small sentence becomes tomorrow's headline.

Even if I mess up, even if people laugh at me or disagree, I want to try being honest. Just for one day.

Because from outside, we all have opinions. We say, “Why can’t they just fix it?” or “They don’t do anything.” But the truth is, it’s not that easy. Maybe if I spend a day doing their work, I will understand why some things take time.

And maybe, after that day, I will come back to my normal life with a little more patience. A little more respect for people who are trying, even if they fail sometimes.

So yes, for just one day, I would like to be a politician.

And then, I’ll happily go back to being myself.
