- Description: Impulse control is one of the challenges I have faced through out the years. Specially when it's about spending. However, recently I am seeing a difference in my thought process.

Lately, I’ve noticed a quiet new presence in my mind. It feels like someone inside my head is gently stopping me from making impulse purchases. The sensation is a bit unusual, as if there is a calm advisor who steps in every time I feel tempted to buy something I do not really need.

It used to be different. I would see a tempting sale or a shiny new gadget, and I’d find myself reaching for the “Buy Now” button almost instantly. Now, before I act, a thought appears and asks whether I really need it.

Instead of making me feel bad, this voice helps me pause and reflect. Often, I set my phone aside and, after a few minutes, I forget what had caught my interest in the first place. There is no sense of loss, only relief.

I wonder if this is a sign of growing up, learning from past mistakes, or simply being tired of clutter and buyer’s regret. Whatever the reason, I am grateful for this change. My decisions feel more deliberate, my mind feels lighter, and my wallet is a little heavier.
